EVA is a general-purpose polymer, which is pressurized by a laminator at high temperature and becomes a whole after cooling, which plays the role of fixing and bonding. It is the mainstream of monocrystalline silicon packaging.

And PVB is a relatively good material for amorphous silicon. It is a building material with better weather resistance but more than 3 times the price of EVA. It has the characteristics of transparency, heat resistance, cold resistance, moisture resistance, and high mechanical strength.

Next, we will look at the difference between EVA and PVB from the application field and lamination process.

In the field of application, PVB is mainly used for PVB filmdouble glass modules, integrated building (BIPV), and other fields, there are few manufacturers and product models.

While EVA is mainly used for the encapsulation of crystalline silicon cells, a small amount of film is also used. It mainly plays the role of protecting the battery and making the battery plate fit tightly with the cover glass.

In the lamination process, PVB and EVA have different temperature requirements. EVA has good thermoplasticity, and the requirements for equipment are not as high as PVB. PVB has higher requirements on temperature (about 155℃) and also has higher requirements on laminators.

Jiaxing Fuying Composite Materials Co., Ltd. is a transparent BIPV module factory in China and an OEM transparent BIPV module. The company is committed to the research, application, production, and sales of Transparent BIPV  Modules and BIPV solar panels. The products have extremely high "ammonia resistance, salt and alkali resistance" performance.
