After cooling, sodium hydroxide solution was added through a dropping funnel to make the solution alkaline, and 2-aminothiazole crystals were precipitated. Diethyl ether was then added to dissolve it. The ether layer was separated, washed with water, dried over anhydrous sodium sulfate, and the ether was evaporated to obtain the crude product. Recrystallization from ethanol gave yellow crystals. Yield 80%, melting point 90°C.
