Danish PT TEKNIK Sweating Fabric Manikin Analysis System

The Sweating Fabric Manikin from PT Teknik, Denmark combines standard thermal manikin technology with an external breathing system. The integration of thermoregulators and respiratory mechanisms provides a realistic simulation of human inspiratory and expiratory airflow. This makes breathing models a powerful tool for analyzing inhaled air quality and/or exhaled air "pollution" in indoor environments.

The breathing system is based on a double pump system with an air volume of up to 70 liters per minute. That means the system can simulate the breathing of a person who is resting as well as someone who is doing light to moderate exercise. The system can be set to simulate breathing through the nose or mouth or both.

Breathing parameters are controlled by manikin PC software. Respiratory volume, waveform and inspiratory/expiratory times can be set in the software according to the application and are also recorded in the data log file of the mannequin.

Heating and humidification of the exhaled air, resulting in a completely natural humidified breath, is optional. Furthermore, as an option, a special air mixer system can be added to introduce and analyze tracer gas in the system.

Breathing Model Configuration

The Sweating Fabric Manikin system can be configured in a number of ways.

Respiratory systems are often considered to be complementary to standard thermal manikin systems. In most cases, the breathing system can also be retrofitted to older PT Teknik manikins.

Another option is to buy just the head of the thermal mannequin, either as a stand-alone head or even as a system of two heads, making it possible to analyze how one person "polluted" the air while the other was exposed to the pollution.
