Dr. Ashvind Bawa did his MBBS at Sri Guru Ram Das Institute of Medical Sciences & Research in Amritsar in 2004. It was at Jammu University in 2010 where he completed his Master of Science (Surgery). Thereafter, he was involved in a number of fellowships and trainings in India as well as overseas. These include: • FIAGES at Indian Association of Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons in 2012 • FMAS at Association of Minimal Access Surgeons of India in 2012 • Fellowship Bariatric Surgery at Max Hospital, Saket in 2012 • Short Term Training in Laparoscopic Colorectal Surgery and Short Term Training in Laparoscopic Hernia Surgery at AIIMS, New Delhi in 2013 • Robotic Surgery Hands on Training on Da Vinci Si System at SAGES, Baltimore in 2013 • Fellowship, American College of Surgeons (FACS) from Chicago in 2015 • Fellowship International Bariatric Club (FIBC) from Manila in 2017 He is now involved in the teaching and working as an Associate Professor of Surgery at Dayanand Medical College (DMC) in Ludhiana. He has been in this noble profession for the past 15 years. He has performed most general surgeries, assisted visiting consultants. Dr Bawa takes a special interest in minimally invasive surgery for a hernia and gallstones and has a specialization in these two. Besides these, he also serves as Chest and Vats Surgeon, Diabetic Foot Surgeon, Fistula Surgeon, Varicose Veins Surgeon, Appendix Surgeon, Piles Surgeon, Weight Loss Surgeon and General Surgeon. He is also an active member of Society of American Gastrointestinal and endoscopic surgeons, Association of surgeons of India, Association of minimal access surgeons of India, Indian association of gastrointestinal and endoscopic surgeons, Asia Pacific Hernia Society, AWR Surgeons Community and many more.
