A large number of harmful gases and dust generated in industrial production need to be cleaned up even with fume extraction equipment, which requires the performance of the fume extraction equipment to be excellent, professional and efficient. The most critical part that affects the dust removal effect of fume extraction and dust removal equipment is the dust filter. The material and specifications of the filter cartridges have a decisive effect on its use. Therefore, we must pay attention to the selection and use of dust filter when purchasing.

The selection of dust filter can be considered from the following aspects

1. Handling air volume

The processing air volume refers to the volume of gas that the dust removal equipment can purify in a unit time. The unit is cubic meters per hour or standard cubic meters per hour. When designing or selecting a dust filter according to the air volume, it is generally not possible to make the dust collector run under the condition of exceeding the specified air volume. Otherwise, the filter element is easy to be blocked, the service life is shortened, the pressure loss is greatly increased, and the dust removal efficiency is also reduced; but the air volume cannot be selected. Is too large, otherwise the equipment investment and floor space will be increased. The reasonable choice of air volume is often determined based on process conditions and experience.

2. Operating temperature

For industrial dust collectors, the operating temperature depends on two factors. The first is the highest temperature of the filter material for the dust filter, and the second is that the gas temperature must be above the dew point temperature. At present, due to the large selection of glass fiber filter materials, the maximum operating temperature can reach 280°C. The temperature of the gas above this temperature must be reduced, and the temperature of the gas below the dew point temperature must be increased. For industrial dust collectors, the relationship between operating temperature and dust removal efficiency is not obvious. This is different from electric dust removal. For electric dust collectors, changes in temperature will affect the specific resistance of dust and affect dust removal efficiency.

3. Dust concentration at the entrance

That is, the inlet dust concentration, which is determined by the process of the dust-raising point. When designing or selecting a dust filter, it is another important factor second only to the processing air volume, expressed in g/m3 or g/Nm3.

4. Outlet dust concentration

The outlet dust concentration refers to the discharge concentration of the dust collector. The expression method is the same as the inlet dust concentration. The outlet dust concentration should be subject to local environmental protection requirements or user requirements, and the appropriate dust filter should be selected according to the dust concentration.

5. Pressure loss

The pressure loss of industrial dust collection equipment refers to the pressure drop of the gas from the inlet to the outlet of the dust collector, and the dust filter or resistance. The pressure loss of dust collector depends on three factors: the pressure loss of the equipment structure; the pressure loss of the filter material (related to the nature of the filter material); the pressure loss of the dust layer accumulated on the filter material.

6. Operating pressure

The operating pressure of industrial dust removal equipment is determined by the static pressure values of the devices before and after the dust collector and the fans and their installation positions. Different operating pressures have different requirements on the dust removal filter element. The dust removal filter element of different materials should be selected according to the operating pressure.

Filter cartridges of different materials and specifications are suitable for different types of industrial dust removal equipment. The factory should choose the appropriate dust filter according to its own production requirements and production environment.
