PRR1-10.2196/18578.Individual behaviors impact physical and mental health. Everyday behaviors such as physical activity, diet, sleep, and tobacco use have been associated with a range of acute and chronic medical conditions. Educating, motivating, and promoting sustained healthy behaviors can be challenging for clinical providers attempting to manage their patients' health. The ubiquity and integration of mobile and digital health devices (eg, wearable step counters, smartphone-based apps) allow for individuals to generate and record enormous amounts of patient-generated health data. Research studies have begun to reveal how mobile and digital devices offer promise in motivating individual behavior change but they have not had consistent results. In this viewpoint, we discuss the potential synergy of digital health modalities and behavioral strategies as an approach for clinicians to prescribe, motivate, monitor, and sustain healthy behaviors. We discuss the strengths, challenges, and opportunities for the future of promoting health behaviors.
The ongoing coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic forced health jurisdictions worldwide to significantly restructure and reorganize their medical activities. In response to the rapidly evolving body of evidence, a solid communication strategy is needed to increase the reach of and adherence to locally drafted and validated guidance to aide medical staff with COVID-19-related clinical decisions.

We present a usage analysis of a dedicated mobile health (mHealth) platform as part of an institutional knowledge dissemination strategy of COVID-19-related guidance to all health care workers (HCWs) in a large academic hospital.

A multidisciplinary team of experts drafted local guidance related to COVID-19. In total, 60 documents and 17 external links were made available through the platform. Documents were disseminated using a recently deployed mHealth platform for HCWs. Targeted dissemination of COVID-19-related content began on March 22, 2020. Using a third-party statistics tool, data concerning user activirgeted audience.
The use of an mHealth solution to disseminate time-sensitive medical knowledge seemed to be an effective solution to increase the reach of validated content to a targeted audience.
Multiple sclerosis (MS) is one of the world's most common neurologic disorders leading to severe disability in young adults. MS-related fatigue directly impacts on the quality of life and activity levels of people with MS. Self-management strategies are used to support them in the care of their health. Mobile health (mHealth) solutions can offer tools to help symptom management. Following a user-centered design and evidence-based process, an mHealth solution called More Stamina was created to help persons with MS manage their fatigue.

The overall study aims are to explore the feasibility, acceptability, and usability of More Stamina, a mobile app for fatigue self-management for persons with MS.

A mixed-methods, multicenter study will be used to assess the feasibility, acceptability, and usability of More Stamina. The study will take place during the third and fourth quarters of 2020 (Q3-Q4 2020) in 3 locations Argentina, Spain, and Switzerland. A longitudinal cohort study will take place, and think-aloud protocols, open-ended interviews, and short answer questionnaires will be used. Selleckchem Sunitinib Persons with MS will be recruited from the different locations. This study seeks to enroll at least 20 patients that meet the criteria from each site for the longitudinal cohort study (total n=60).

Ethical approval has been granted in Argentina and is pending in Spain and Switzerland. Outcomes will be published in peer-reviewed medical journals and presented at international conferences.

Findings from this study will be used to help understand the role that mHealth can play in fatigue management in MS.

PRR1-10.2196/18196.This article tackles the global exponential stability for a class of delayed complex-valued inertial neural networks in a discrete-time form. It is assumed that the activation function can be separated explicitly into the real part and imaginary part. Two methods are employed to deal with the stability issue. One is based on the reduced-order method. Two exponential stability criteria are obtained for the equivalent reduced-order network with the generalized matrix-measure concept. The other is directly based on the original second-order system. The main theoretical results complement each other. Some comparisons with the existing works show that the results in this article are less conservative. Two numerical examples are given to illustrate the validity of the main results. This article presents a new approach to design static output-feedback (SOF) controllers for constrained Takagi-Sugeno fuzzy systems with nonlinear consequents. The proposed SOF fuzzy control framework is established via the absolute stability theory with appropriate sector-bounded properties of the local state and input nonlinearities. Moreover, both state and input constraints are explicitly taken into account in the control design using set-invariance arguments. Especially, we include the local sector-bounded nonlinearities of the fuzzy systems in the construction of both the nonlinear controller and the nonquadratic Lyapunov function. Within the considered local control context, the new class of nonquadratic Lyapunov functions provides an effective solution to estimate the closed-loop domain of attraction, which can be nonconvex and even disconnected. The convexification procedure is performed using specific congruence transformations in accordance with the special structures of the proposed SOF controllers and nonquadratic Lyapunov functions. Consequently, the fuzzy SOF control design can be reformulated as an optimization problem under strict linear matrix inequality constraints with a linear search parameter. Compared to existing fuzzy SOF control schemes, the new structures of the control law and the Lyapunov function are more general and offer additional degrees of freedom for the control design. Both theoretical arguments and numerical illustrations are provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach in reducing the design conservatism.
