I relish traveling a lot. It's among my favourite activities (but costly!) dune buggy tour dubai. And I truly believe that having knowledge about the history of the area you visit is an entirely new and distinct aspect to your travel experience.

This discussion is devoted to Dubai the history of Dubai. This isn't a complete evaluation like an encyclopedia might offer. However, it's a brief background that will help you appreciate Dubai City more during your trip. I'd like to think so.

The Islamic nation of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) comprises seven Emirates and Dubai is one among them It is believed that Dubai existed at about 150 years prior to Union.

Dubai contains the most number of people of the Emirates and is the second-largest in land mass. It has also been deemed the most liberal, modern and forward-thinking Emirate, as it has been developing faster and farther than its counterparts.

The first record of the history of Dubai dates back to 1095 CE. There is no evidence between then and the second oldest document as of 1587, where the author discusses Dubai as a place that was popular in the world of pearl divers. As you will see that the initial Dubai history is not known till today.

The Royal Family from Dubai (the current rulers) could be traced back to 1833 , the year that they were part of the Al Maktoum Dynasty arrived to claim Dubai from Abu Dhabi (capital of UAE). The Dynasty was previously part of the Bin Yas clan which was settled at Abu Dhabi.

This was the time when Dubai became an independent Emirate and this was the beginning of the ancestry of the current Dubai royals. Dubai.

There were numerous difficulties at the beginning of the history of Dubai. Because of its Geographical position that lends itself to trading, many tried to conquer and conquer the city.

This is the time that Dubai City agreed for protection under the protection of British (back when Britain was a powerful defence power). When Dubai was granted protection under the protection of the British The royal family of Dubai took advantage of its location and got involved in trade with other nations. Several traders from various countries (mainly India) came to Dubai for trade in goods.

The History of Dubai Currency

The Gulf Rupee was the first currency used in Dubai. Dubai later joined Qatar and together formed the Riyal. It was the Riyal proved to be more secure than the Gulf Rupee that was weakened in value and essentially became obsolete.

In 1971, to further stabilize its currency and strength, Dubai joined Abu Dhabi to form the United Arab Emirates.

Four other Emirates had already joined Abu Dhabi and one more joined in 1972. Dubai later adopted it's UAE Dirham.

The Dirham has been used extensively for quite a while. Since it was used frequently in trade transactions in Dubai and other cities, it was widely used across all traders and merchants. The Dirham was linked with the US Dollar back in November 1997. This hasn't changed since.

Every US Dollar equates to 3.6725 Dirhams. Every Dirham comprises 100 Fills (equivalent of cents). Most often, you will see the Dirham abbreviated as "Dhs" but in some instances "DH".

When when I visited Dubai in 2007, there was some speculation ( mostly speculation) that the Dirham could be valued for the first time because it was linked to USD. US Dollar. The speculation was mainly due to the fall in the value of the US Dollar.

Many people rushed into exchange shops to trade in their currency. Some made quick cash and some lost in the process.

Luckily I had some spare cash and was able to get to Citibank. I could exchange the US Dollars I had in my account for more Dirhams. Then I discovered an exchange house where I was able to exchange my Dirhams for USDs and at a more favorable exchange rate. I would have liked to have my entire bank account located in Dubai that time.
