Bayern Munich appear to have succeeded in signing Michael Oliseh. In fact, it's all but official.
Florian Plettenberg, a reporter for Sky Sports Germany who is well versed in Bayern news, tweeted on his personal social media account on April 22: "Oliseh is joining Bayern. We have reached a full agreement with Crystal Palace," he reported. European soccer transfer market expert Fabrizio Romano also confirmed the news of Oliseh's move to Bayern, writing his signature phrase, "Here we go!" to confirm the transfer.
Bayern are heading into their first season under Vincent Kompany next season, and they've been working hard to strengthen their squad. Hiroki Ito has already been added to the defense, but Oliseh has emerged as one of the top targets in the forward line overhaul.
Oliseh, who made his professional debut for Reading, made his Crystal Palace debut in the 2020-2021 season after breaking out at Reading. As he began to adapt to the English Premier League (EPL) at Palace, Oliseh's potential really began to shine in the 2022-2023 season. After scoring two goals and providing 11 assists in 40 games that season, Oliseh exploded with 10 goals and six assists in 19 games in 2023-2024, despite missing a number of games due to injury.
Bayern wanted a winger to replace Kingsley Coman, Sergi Gnabry, and the up-and-down Leroy Sane, who have all missed 먹튀검증 time with injuries this season, and Kompany, who has already seen Oliseh's performances in the English Premier League (EPL), is believed to have requested the signing.
'Oliseh will sign a contract until 2029 and Bayern will pay €60 million for the transfer,' Plettenberg said. A verbal agreement has already been reached with the player.
In Oliseh's case, he has reportedly already agreed to join Bayern. 'Oliseh has decided to join Bayern,' said global sports media outlet Diario Athletic, 'despite interest from EPL clubs. Bayern are expected to agree a deal with Palace. 'Chelsea have decided to call off the transfer as they feel they cannot afford it financially,' the statement continued.
"Bayern want to invest in young players, not just stars. Oliseh is a young and talented player whose value will increase, which is in line with Bayern's objectives.
With the signing of Oliseh now effectively complete, Bayern have already finalized two signings of the summer transfer window. Expectations for a different Bayern next season will be even higher.
